About
The Integrative Centre for Research & Innovation in Biology (ICRIB) is an autonomous, not-for-profit scientific research institute established by the registered non-government organization Braj Mohan Jha Science Research & Innovation Foundation (BMJSRIF), also known as the Braj Mohan Jha Foundation, headquartered in Chandigarh, India.
Founded in 2020 as the Indian Consortium for Research & Innovation in Biology, ICRIB was created with a vision to advance integrative biological sciences by bridging disciplinary boundaries and fostering innovation across multiple scales of biological organization. The institute promotes research spanning genetics, molecular biology, systems biology, ecology, and evolution — extending from fundamental biological discovery to advanced methodologies and emerging technologies in biological exploration.
ICRIB serves as a collaborative platform for interdisciplinary researchers, facilitating the exchange of scientific ideas and strengthening partnerships with universities and research institutions across India and beyond. The institute is committed to cultivating modern research competencies, encouraging methodological rigor, and supporting the development of early-career researchers and emerging biologists prepared to address complex contemporary scientific challenges.
The institute embraces diversity of thought and thrives on multiple scientific perspectives to achieve excellence in research and innovation. Recognizing its broader societal responsibility, ICRIB actively engages with communities to promote scientific literacy, responsible innovation, and meaningful public dialogue in biological sciences.
Through strategic collaborations, capacity-building initiatives, and research-driven partnerships, ICRIB advances knowledge generation, translational innovation, and interdisciplinary integration within the life sciences ecosystem.
ICRIB is officially registered in the global Research Organization Registry (ROR ID: https://ror.org/03ea21663), ensuring standardized international recognition and accurate attribution of its scholarly outputs, collaborations, and research contributions across global academic databases and publishing platforms.
